Audi Launches Q7 in India, price it elegantly at 72 Lakhs.

Audi has launched one of its premium SUV Q7 today . The Car is priced at 72 lakhs and will be availble in two variants from January 2007. The company has priced the TDI variant at 72 Lakh while the TDI premium plus is priced at 77.5 Lakhs.The Cars were launched at a glamorous event by Indian Test Captain Virat Kohli.

The company has focussed on a sharper design and futurustic appeal.The company has also added Matrix LED lamps so as to give a sharp look. As per the design the car is 5,050mm long, 1,970mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,990mm.The company has tried its best to reduce the weight of the car to 325 KG.

Volkswagen sale at an all time low after the emission controversy.

Sales of Volkswagen cars have slumped as low as 20% after the diesel emission scandal. According to a report all the cars under the iconic brands have been hit badly. In a report from Britain’s Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders new car registration increased by 3.8 % to 178, 873 I November but the Volkswagen brand of cars were badly hit. Sale of Audi brand of cars dropped by 4%, Skoda dropped by 11% and Seat was down by a whopping 24% in recent times.

The dent in the brand of Volkswagen will be difficult to recover as the car maker admitted falsifying carbon dioxide emissions deepening the biggest corporate scandal.

Other manufacturer like Ford and Vauxhall also showed a major drop in sales. The controversy has hit the market overall and the chance for its recovery is grim.

“November’s sales might have been boosted by some consumers delaying their purchases from October when the VW emissions scandal hit the headlines” said Samuel Tombs at Pantheon Macroeconomics said in a note.

Bentley launches its Bentayga .

One of the biggest investment program by Bentley , Bentayga has been launched. The company manufactured the first car from its assembly in Crewe, UK . Customers can receive the car from early next year once the company finishes the testing and other approval procedures by later this month. The product will be the best in its class and the company reportedly announced that the project would crease around 1500 jobs in UK.

“Bentley Bentayga will be the benchmark against which all other SUVs are measured, defining a new segment – the luxury SUV”, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors Wolfgang Darheimer said in a statement.

The first Bentayga was painted  in Anthracite color and its took 13 hours for the handicraft experts to do the job.  The model is said to be one of the toughest SV model  being produced by the company in recent times.

There was a huge applause when the first car was launched as the Prime Minister David Cameroon  said “I am delighted that the first Bentley Bentayga has rolled off the production line in Crewe. It marks the culmination of a period of exceptional hard work by Bentley and its dedicated workforce as they brought this remarkable new vehicle to market.”

Mercedes Benz had a happy Diwali this November .

Daimler’s Mercedes Benz had a great festive season this year as its SUV sales reached its pole . The demand for SUV for as its peak globally while there was a good demand for compact vehicles. The global delivery of the brand rose by 7.4 % to 161,953 vehicles in 11 month period. The company has beaten the previous year record by a good margin.

The demand for SUV was also seen in other Asian and South Eastern countries like China and Singapore. The company recently launched its AGS model this month and hopes to pin down the high end  domestic  market.

Mahindra’s tractor sales up by 47% due to festive season.

Farm equipment giant Mahindra and Mahindra showed a spiking 47% growth in its tractor business this November. Festive season is said to be the major reason for this sales boost. In a company release Mahindra’s spokesperson said “Domestic sales in November 2015 stood at 20,819 units, as against 14,207 units during November 2014. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during November 2015 stood at 21,717 units, as against 15,333 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 898 units.”

Adding on to this Rajesh Jejurikar, President and Chief Executive – Farm Equipment and Two Wheeler Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have sold 20,819 tractors in the domestic market during November 2015, which is growth of 47 per cent over last year on the backdrop of improved sentiments due to festive season. “We hope for the rural economy to steadily revive going forward. In the export market, we sold 898 tractors during November 2015.”

VE commercial vehicle shows growth, increase by 26% this November.

The joint venture Auto company VE commercial vehicle shows positive signs with a growth of 26% this November. The company is a Joint venture between Sweden’s Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. The company sold 3,639 units as against 2,896 units in the same month last year. This is a good sign  in consumer auto space as the demand for the commercial products have increase due to government’s focus on Infrastructure in India. The company’s parent Eicher also showed growth in exports by selling 629 units as compared to 545 units last year. The company sold 3,534 units in November as compared to 2,778 trucks in the domestic market.

Volkswagen AG to launch a India Specific Sedan soon .

German Auto giant Volkswagen is planning to roll out a India specific sedan soon from Its Pune plant .The company is also planning to invest Ra 720 crore in R& D in this sector. It also plans to add more product in its protfolio of cars in India . In a statement given by Andreas Lauermann Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd, President and Managing Director , ” We are following a long-term investment plan in India and with our latest investment we have reaffirmed our confidence in this growing automotive market. With the ramp-up of the new model, we will add more manpower and also create more jobs at our suppliers’ end”.

The investment will be made towards setting up equipments and ramping up the production of new compact sedan in the near future. This is the second step of investment after the engine assembly plant a year ago. Additionally, we will continue to invest further in increasing our productivity and efficiency,” Lauermann added. The new sedan is set to launch in Auto Expo in  February next year.  The company has so far invested more than 5500 crore in India at the Pune plant since the start of its operation in 2007.

Hyundai has sold 4 million vehicle since its inception.

Hyundai motor reported on sale of 4 million vehicles in India since its inception. The company which took Indian shores 19 years ago with the launch of Hyundai Santro has come up with various popular brands like I-20 , Grand i-10 . The company is one of the top exporter for the last 10 years . It has more than 433 dealers with 1,100 service stations. Hyundai has also developed a multi million global R&D centre in Hyderabad to meet the global edge in passenger vehicle market.

Mercedes AMG GT S launched in India , priced at Rs 2.4 Crore.

Mercedes launched one of its most popular car , Mercedes Benz AMG GTS in India today . The model is priced at Rs2.4 Crore (ex-showroom-Delhi). The company launched its 14th product  this year and plans to add one more by the end of the year .

The current model launched comes with a 4-liter bi turbo engine and has built in elite class features  like  adaptive brake lights, composite braking system, automatic child seat recognition and eight airbags. “The launch of the AMG GT S is the finest example of our top-of-pyramid approach for the Indian market as we are presenting the most acclaimed product from our global portfolio,” Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger told reporters in New Delhi.

JLR to be made in India, plans to double its market share.

Tata Motors newly acquired brand Jaguar Land Rover is set to build a manufacturing plant in India in order to focus on more customized products for Indian audience. The company is following the strategy of Audi, Mecedes Benz and BMW in order to increase its market share to 20% in a three year period.

The company already has a plant in Chikale Pune where it assembles the (XF,XJ, Discovery Sport and Evoque) four models available in India . The company plans to start with the manufacturing of XE sedan locally. The company also has plans to assemble more and more SUVs here and make India their Hub for Asia and other close territories.

According to Rohit Suri, President JLR India ” Local manufacture will steer our strategy. If we get more products which are competitively priced in India, we will do better. We still have exciting products like the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover. When that happens, price wise we are still not very competitive. So, there is a huge opportunity waiting to be tapped”.
